Pharmaceutical products such as protein based and many oncology products are highly sensitive to temperature and require strick temperature control. Different products require different temperature ranges but being 5°C to 15°C or 15°C to 25°C temperature variations and particularly global warming causing unpredictable variations of temperature at all seasons make cool chain management difficult.
This is particulary the case in areas of extreme cold or hot temperatures where delivery of drugs to retailers and pharmacies can be exposed at temperatures way under or above the so called room temperature.
